Restitution workshop of the mango sector

On January 26, 2023, a workshop was held at the La Rose Blanche hotel in Korhogo to present the participatory institutional diagnosis (DIP) and validate the action plans for the organizational strengthening of OPAs in the mango sector.

PADFA, in its implementation strategy, develops the value chain approach around the mango, market gardening and rice sectors. It relies on the OPAs which play an essential role in this system. To support the eleven (11) organizations of the mango sector and the thirteen (13) of the market gardening sector in the structuring and professionalization, firms have been recruited. At the end of this support, Cabinet Mont Horeb presented the results of the studies carried out on the eleven (11) OPAs in the mango sector.

This meeting was attended by thirty-two (32) people, including representatives of DGPSA/MÉMINADER, DOPA/MÉMINADER, DEP/MÉMINADER, MÉMINADER Regional Directorates of PADFA regions and four (04) OPAs of the mango sector. The objectives of these exchanges were to (i) share the results of the DIPs of OPAs in the mango sector, (ii) share and validate the action plans of each of the OPAs surveyed and (iii) collect contributions to improve results of this study. After the welcome and opening speeches delivered by Mr. ÉDJA MESSOU, Coordinator of PADFA, Cabinet Mont Horeb presented the results of its work which revealed that most of the OPAs audited have a low level of overall performance. Following the restitution of the DIP, the consultant proposed an action plan for the organizational strengthening of OPAs in the mango sector.

At the end of the presentations and the very constructive exchanges of the participants, the results were validated subject to taking into account the observations of the workshop.

It should be noted that Cabinet Mont Horeb will make personal restitutions to each takeover bid.
